Share Your Health Care Story
May 30, 2013
Behind the almost ginormous, anonymous curtain of the 40 million uninsured Americans are millions of tiny untold human stories — personal health care stories that range from the heartwarming to the heartbreaking. These stories need to be told.
Getting all those millions of people covered with affordable health insurance — some of them for the first time ever — inspires the entire Get Covered America team, and fuels this movement. We want to share those stories with all Americans in the next few weeks and months.
Chances are, you know of someone who has suffered needlessly due to lack of insurance — financially, medically, or both. Maybe that’s even you.
- Maybe part of the Affordable Care Act has already helped you or someone in your family — such as the ability to keep your child on a family health care plan until age 26.
- Maybe there is a high risk of cancer in your family, so having access to free mammograms and annual checkups is a great reassurance
- Maybe you’re one of those millions of Americans who will be newly eligible for affordable health care — and so, October 1st can’t come fast enough.
Whatever your motivation is, please Share Your Health Care Story with us. Write as much or as little as you’re inspired to. Feel free to submit pictures or video if either help tell your story.
Regardless of how deep or how simple your reasons are, please know that just reading about your involvement gives the entire Get Covered America team motivation. So, thank you in advance.
