Honoring MLK This Weekend
January 14, 2014
“Of all the forms of inequality, injustice in health care is the most shocking and inhumane.”
Those words from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. are just as true now as when he said them so many years ago. He knew the importance of having quality, affordable health insurance.
And now, millions of Americans have new health insurance options.
That’s where our weekend of service comes in. We’ll be reaching out to thousands of Americans about how they can get affordable health insurance for the first time — and each of us has a role to play.
We’ll be at local churches, community centers, and in neighborhoods from coast to coast making sure people know about their options — and about the financial help available.
Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is a yearly reminder that while the change he worked for may never be complete, it is up to us to make progress in our own time.
