COLUMBUS, OH – According to new data released today by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, 202,379 Ohioans have enrolled or reenrolled in coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace this enrollment period as of January 30, 2015. For the first time, the new data also includes enrollment statistics for four major Ohio metropolitan areas. In the Cleveland-Elyria area, 41,837 Ohioans have enrolled; Columbus: 32,827; Cincinnati (including parts of OH and IN): 32,453; and Dayton: 12,082.
“With just 11 days left until the final February 15 deadline, we’re pleased to learn that more than 202,000 Ohioans have already secured quality, affordable health coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace,” said Get Covered America Ohio State Director Trey Daly. “But we aren’t going to be slowing down our outreach efforts. Over the remaining days of this enrollment period, we will be working with partners throughout the state to help Ohioans understand their health insurance options under the Affordable Care Act and get covered before February 15.”
Throughout the second open enrollment period, the Get Covered America team has worked with Certified Application Counselor organizations in Cleveland, Columbus, and Cincinnati to train volunteers to become certified enrollment assisters to boost outreach and enrollment efforts locally.
Upcoming enrollment opportunities include:
